Job Overview

The Warehouse Management/Delivery Specialist exhibits excellent entrepreneurial skills and provides strong leadership and support in the areas of Continuous Process Improvement, Process & Systems Integrity, and Project Management.  The Warehouse Management/Delivery Specialist makes use of an existing network of other Brightway team members in the execution of his/her duties and responsibilities.


The Warehouse Management/Delivery Specialist also demonstrates the following key competencies:

  • Can manage expectations and present objective solutions and arguments based on business requirements.
  • Ensures that all activities related to SAP and continuous improvement are identified and assessed.



Education and Experience:


  • Ability to affect changes to Warehouse Management/Delivery business processes through recognized leadership skills and expertise.
  • Thorough knowledge and complete understanding of all aspects of SAP Warehouse Management and its integration in other areas of SAP.
  • A broad knowledge of Brightway Platforms and related processes.
  • Excellent knowledge of SAP ECC implementation methodology and plans.
  • Working knowledge of SAP’s Transportation Management and Extended Warehouse Management applications.
  • Working knowledge of UPS Connect Ship and XPS.
  • Excellent knowledge of continuous improvement practices, methodologies and tools.
  • Broad understanding of SAP ECC modules and key functionality.
  • Good understanding of organizational/human resources issues associated with business process changes.
  • Good knowledge of ERP systems and technologies.
  • Good understanding of SAP ECC training development and delivery methods.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, information technology, or industrial engineering with preferably 8 years or more of experience in a related field, with a minimum 3 - 5 years of related experience.
  • Must be able to travel 50% - 75%.


Skills:


The Warehouse Management/Delivery Specialist should have the following technical skills:

  • Specialized knowledge of the company's Warehouse Management/Delivery business processes.
  • Ultimate ownership of the Warehouse Management/Delivery business process, or groups of processes.
  • Empowerment as a decision maker.
  • The ability to offer standardized business processes to a wide range of diversified business users and to implement those processes throughout the Enterprise.
  • The ability to work in both a management and detail capacity.
  • System implementation experience.


Other highly desirable attributes for this role are:

To have a big picture view of the project vision and goals, and the ability to communicate this to the ECC project management and business.



Project Responsibilities:


Project Management

  • Takes a proactive and solution-oriented approach in regards to issue management and resolution when providing day–to-day support to the end-user community.
  • Acts as project liaison within the user community for his/her continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Works with other Business Analysts, SAP Specialists and Integration Testing teams on projects and initiatives to ensure an integrated system solution.
  • Uses continuous improvement methodology and ECC expertise through the knowledge transfer process and provides suggestions on how they could be improved.
  • Shares knowledge and expertise with his/her peers and the user community.
  • Ensures that enhancements and modifications are completely tested prior to implementing.


Continuous Improvement

  • Promotes the use of Warehouse Management/Delivery business processes using standard SAP functionality.
  • Strives to continuously enhance the Warehouse Management/Delivery business processes by maximizing the use of ECC.
  • Identifies and logs business improvement opportunities in consultation with the various Business Improvement Leaders and the Continuous Improvement Manager.
  • Works with various Business Improvement Leaders in order to develop and draft detailed Business cases and measurement criteria applicable to business improvement opportunities.
  • Works with various Business Improvement Leaders and the Continuous Improvement Manager in order to prioritize process improvement initiatives.
  • Works with the Continuous Improvement Manager in order to define and improve process improvement methodologies and tools as well as change management methodologies and tools.
  • Facilitates and/or participates in business process improvement and change sessions in support of process improvement initiatives. and supports Kaizen Program Offices and Lean Business Initiatives. Facilitates and/or participates in process simulations and walk-throughs.
  • Ensures appropriate documentation for all activities pertaining to Warehouse Management/Delivery process improvement and change management.
  • Matches business requirements in SAP to determine detailed design of SAP and non-SAP enabled solutions.
  • Recommends and assesses design solutions and alternatives.
  • Identifies functional gaps and determines resolutions or work-arounds.
  • Determines “to-be” requirements based on experience and input from user community.
  • Works with integration test teams and provides input on technical implications of specific requirements or ECC solutions.
  • Manages the integration aspects of the business requirements and proposed solution(s).


Business Process Design and Activity Scripting

  • Owns and develops activity profiles and scripts, and related documentation.
  • Provides SAP expertise in Warehouse Management/Delivery functional areas.
  • Works closely with local business teams in determining configuration requirements.
  • Develops conceptual design of interfaces & conversions, reports & forms, scheduled jobs and EDI/Internet requirements.
  • Ensures efficiency and data quality in design, configuration and conversion efforts.
  • Performs unit and integration testing and develops related documentation.
  • Works closely with Hubbell Business Platforms and localized business units in order to keep abreast of the business requirements.


SAP ECC System Configuration

  • May perform minor SAP ECC configuration as required; specifically, implementation guide and table maintenance.
  • Provide SAP expertise in designated functional areas.
  • Recommends and assesses SAP design solutions and alternatives.
  • Facilitates completion of SAP layout and form specifications.


Training

  • Assists Training Specialists in the development and validation of training materials.
  • Provide ongoing assistance to the Directors of Systems Development and support to change agents on all process improvement as well as change management activities and issues resulting from process improvement initiatives.
  • Proactively identifies any training-related issues impacting Brightway Business Platforms localized business units and engages the Training Specialists as required.


Process & Systems Integrity

  • Ensures process and systems integrity requirements are addressed.
  • Participates in development of security profiles for processes within the area.
